More forces are pushing hard to disorganise zoning in Niger State PDP. The Prof. Jerry Gana underground alliance later anointed a Nupe candidate from Zone A, who will be a perfect challenge to Governor Aliyu’s anointed candidate, Umar Nasko. This was seen more glaringly with the fact that the Vice President, Arc. Mohammed Namadi Sambo, and some top PDP faithful were with Alh. Imam Yahya when he purchased the Intent form to contest in the 2015 Guber elections, few media and journalists were allowed to cover the event.

Why Prof. Jerry Gana’s Game

Prof. Jerry Gana is the man behind all the game, and the essence is to take political control over Niger State for Jonathan’s 2015 agenda. They smell a rat that Gov. Aliyu might not take the Jonathan’s 2015 presidential bid serious. He will work just to maintain PDP structure in the state.

The Yahya Imam political network is holding several meetings in Zone A Axis of Niger State, trying to disconnect the Nupe from the Gov. Aliyu PDP leadership. If the Nupe controls a faction, the Umar Nasko ticket might be in jeopardy.

The closed door meeting between Gov. Aliyu and Prof. Jerry Gana failed to yield a consensus, and Prof. Gana went ahead with the Jonathan mandate campaign. They are now pushing the newly elected senator, Dr. Nuhu Zabayi, to re-contest for same seat against 2015. This will be a great setback to Gov. Aliyu’s 2015 Senatorial ambition. But with the leadership of the new PDP chairman in the state, Gov. Aliyu is working to frustrate even the Jonathan agenda if he loses his 2015 senatorial race.

The former PDP chairman was Alh. Mahmudu Enagi, who resigned to contest against Sen. Zainab Kure in the Niger East Senatorial election. The new PDP chairman is Alh. Umar Musa Maali, former speaker of Niger State House of Assembly, who lost to Hon. Sani Kuti in 2011 election to the House of Representatives. Hon. Sani is the son of the former Chief Justice of Nigeria, Justice Idris Kutigi.
