Did you watch our second-string super Eagles versus their Ivory Coast counterparts’ penultine weekend? Not only did nation’s home-based lads performed well in that match (regardless of the result), they even played better than the “regular” Super Eagles.
Incidentally, that match was handled by the Eagles’ assistant coach, Daniel Amokachi. Their passing, ball control, team work and tactial discipline were in sharp contrast to what the Eagles (foreign legion and all) normally put up under Coach Stephen Keshi. The local lads sparkled in areas where Keshi’s teams normally stumble.
This is a lion-size food for thought. Keshi may be a great coach, but .he is certainly not indispensable. This is the evergreen message underscored by Amokachi and the lads on show against Ivory Coast the memorable evening.
