ALHAJI NDAGI FARUK, OFR, KOV, MHA
Provincial Commissioner Plateau
He was born in 1917 in Bida old Niger Province. He attended Niger Middle School, (Now Government College Bida) from 1936 to1940 and attended numerous courses within and outside Nigeria.
His Civil Service career started in the then Bida Native Administration Hospital now Federal Medical Centre Bida, where he was the supervisor (Wakilin Asibiti) in-charge of the Medical and Health Department from 1938 to1956. He was elected as a member of the Northern Nigeria House of Assembly in 1956 to begin a political career that spanned over two decades. During this period he held many political appointments as acting Minister of Trade and Industry of Northern Region, Provincial Commissioner Sardauna Province and later Plateau and member of League of Hospital Friends of the Federal Medical Centre Bida.
Among his numerous awards in recognition of service to the Nation and beyond are Officer of the Order of the Federal Republic (OFR) in 1965 and Knight of the Order of Valour (KOV) by the Camerounian Government in 1965.
Alhaji Ngagi Faruk, the Tafidan Bida, died on 3rd March 2002.
