‘Gov Gaidam’s Sins against the People’
After more than one year break to see if the administration of Governor Ibrahim Gaidam will start implementing its promises, it is now obvious that corrupt officials and cronies are feeding fat from our resources and considering the alarming rate of poverty, crime, unchecked killings of innocent people in the name of Boko Haram, unprecedented looting of the state and LGAs treasury spearheaded by Bra Bra and his kin and kin has become the order of the day. Tribalism in appointments is now the business of government. Never before have indiscriminate sacking of workers, joblessness become the norm rather than the exception. That is why YAF have decided to actively resume the campaign against the many atrocities and failure of the Gaidam administration.
There is no doubt as reported in the recent edition of DESERT HERALD (may Allah bless it’s leadership and struggle) that Yobe is not only the most under-developed state in Nigeria but the most corrupt, whose Governor being a typical villager and without exposure, has of recent concentrated in acquiring every choice property for sale in Abuja, Kano and of recent in Kaduna. Bra Bra, as the embattled governor is popularly known, is busy investing for his selfish ends at a time innocent citizens are being killed daily due to his ineptitude and insensitivity of his government. It is important for readers to know the unequal achievements this ‘patriotic’ governor of Yobe state recorded in the last one year of his fresh mandate. He did so well that is why those he helped in getting millions from our treasury are already campaigning for Bra Bra for 2015. Already Bra Bra was sworn in twice and if he succeeds in 2015 (God forbid), he will become the first governor to be sworn in three times and probably to spend a record ten years in power (that is if his deteriorating health condition permits him), we are not praying for what happened to late Mamman Ali to happen to him but who knows Allah never sleeps and He answers prayers of those that are being cheated. The untimely death of late MAL should have serve as a big lesson to Gaidam but typical of human nature, Bra Bra has forgotten the circumstances of MAL’s demise not even Bra Bra even the younger brother of late MAL, incumbent deputy governor, Danlami Ali (may his soul rest in peace) did not seem to have learnt any lesson from the ‘surprise’ death of a hitherto powerful governor with enormous power, authority and influence to decide whatever he wants against his helpless citizens and at the height of his political career too.
Gaidam’s 2011 Report Card
The sieging of Damaturu by the Boko Haram sect on Friday 4th November, 2011 where more than 160 people were killed at a time Bra Bra is in one of his frequent trips to Saudi Arabia. No compensation was so far made to any of the families of those killed while victims of bullet worms and bomb attack were left at the mercy of their helpless relatives. Two weeks after the gruesome attack and governments inability to come to the aid of the victims, Gaidam through Sanda Goni Kusur have sponsored about 25 ‘Malams’ to Saudi Arabia with our money to pray for him.
When another gruesome attack on the famous Tikke cattle market in Potiskum where nearly 200 of Bra Bra’s innocent citizens committed to earning their livelihood in a state government neglected economic activities were brutally killed by armed robbers in a location close to three JTF checkpoints and spent more than three hours without security intervention, Gaidam did not query the failure, alleged complicitry or deliberate negligence of the security forces and decided to announce a negligible ‘compensation’ of N50 million to over 200 families and business men. Even the disbursement of the N50m is shrouded in irregularities and fraud.
But in the same week DESERT HERALD published exclusive pictures of one of the many multi million naira edifices valued at over N900m belonging to Bra Bra at Wuse Zone 6. So far, Bra Bra has not denied ownership of the estate. How he got the money is any ones guess.
While our people are wallowing in abject poverty, Gaidam has appointed and connived with Ibrahim Ali Arab and are extorting millions of naira through the Pilgrims Welfare Board in the name of sponsoring thugs and party prostitutes for Hajj and Umrah.
Within the year under review, Bra Bra’s appointments is not only loopsided in favour of his Mangawa/Kanuri tribe but has violated the principles of federal character. In the ministries of finance, education, works and local government 92% of all the principal officers holding lucrative offices of commissioners, perm. secs. and directors of finance and supply are either Mangawa or from Gaidam Local Government. In the ministry of works both the commissioner, Lawan Shettima and his DFS are from Gaidam.
Gaidam is perhaps the most globe trotting governor in Nigeria today. To our count, he has travelled to Saudi Arabia with our resources since May 2011 eighteen times. Within the same period he has sacked over ten thousand employees of the 17 local governments and makes no effort to caution the effect of his unpopular sack.
Under him, Yobe is the only state in Nigeria that didn’t have a modern market in the state capital or any of the LGAs.
Bra Bra has done much more since he was sworn in for the second time on 29th May, 2011. He deserve our support for the harm and disaster he brought to Yobe state. We will keep on updating you about a regime that believes in many friends, cronies and immediate family millionaires even if the whole citizens will die. The Gaidam regime through corruption and inflation of contracts has made a record of producing the highest number of millionaires in the history of the rich but yet the poorest state in terms of infrastructures and basic social animities.
May Allah (SWT) answer our prayers against a leader that doesn’t think of tomorrow and expose the greed of his friends, appointees and cronies.

It is only the almighty God can save this young state from the issue of tribalism, selfish and host of other administrative abnormalities. During late Mamman Ali his kins men were favoured, during Bukar’s administration towards the end, those from his local choses the office they want to occupy. So, in Yobe is tradition to favour your people when you are in power. Therefore Gaidam cannot be an exception.
This AYF or whatever you called your self, you should consider the fed.govt appointment to see how ijaw dominated the lucrative ministries.And gaidam that you are talking has been trying his best especially roads and employment.you have 2 b objective in life,and stop politicing everything as a good believer.
Really Yobe state is left behind in terms of dev’t. Our administration is full of tribal and sentimental affiliation. Our educational sector retrogressing. no instructional materials in our schools, our teachers are not qualified ; thier employment is based on political nepotism. Insecurity has become order of the day, no good roads and good drinking water, amomg other things.
I suggest that, in the next coming election…….that is my comment.

Why are u speaking meaningless? Gov. Gaidam he is trying, i’m currentl not in the state, but when i visited my relative, i saw lot of work that his adminstration has done, like 1 network roads, which link all the LG, therefore when u go to rural & urban area u’ll agree that thE Gov. he is doing his best for his ststa.
Meanwhile, about his selfish & tribalism, that u’r talking about, i want to ask u, who is the current SSG, he is from which area, & also the AG And Head of Service?
and those that i’ll mention below
Speaker, Majority, Manority Leader, Comm. of Agric,Health,Environment,Water,Housing, and the rest they ‘r 4rm which area?

Hmm Mr baba belo u cant pull us with all drama or stories that u created, you said d lucratives offices or possitions have dominated by mangawa or peoples from Geidam local govt. which shows that u are selfish and lie. As Anwar commented above, the Head of service, SSG, Speaker, Cmm of Agric, Cmm of Health and others are not mangawa or from Geidam LGA, You see that means you are a troble shooter. Bra Bra has done alot and he is still trying alot there fore you can’t condemmed him. My advise to YAF please if your aims is to propagate peace you should not allowed ur so-called secretary to be twiceting you and making lie to public.

Bra bra has no problem with his people the only problem is the amsadors bcos whatever he releised is not reaching the grassroot. That is the only problem we have in yobe.

i wonder how some peuples show there enemity freely with out tinking how peoples tink about them. MR.JAJERE or what so evr you call your self your post dosn’t sound any miningful thought i guess its just a political hatefullness as i proud to be a yobean and one who residen at abuja i ve visited my home state i.e YOBE last sallah of eid i ve seen somany changes such as human developement and both structural all that Gov.gaidam ve make it happening in yobe. How ever gov,gaidam currently ve awarding 700 kilometers road to construct wchice link all local govt of the state rural and urban, gaidam ve awarded a construction for building 700 housing estate whithin a state, and provide medical facility to all clinic and general hospital in all local govt.areas, how ever i can’t mention all what he ve done in his tenure that is the few of what i ve seen in his tiny tenure that his undergo within his regime.
He is the only gov. Who give offer to employing over 1200 graduate and 700 under graduate and give 15000 naira for eradicating poverty in the state. Gov.gaidam ve awarding free education for all indigenes of titiari intitution know gov,gaidam ve appriciated by all citizen of yobe due to his achivement and human dev.
