Following the judgment of the Federal High Court in Abuja declaring Jimoh Ibrahim as authentic candidate of Peoples Democratic Party for Ondo Governorship Poll, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has named Ibrahim as the candidate PDP for the election.
The commission also named Mr. Alabi Ebenezer Omotayo as his running mate.
An Abuja Federal High on October 14 ordered the electoral commission to remove Eyitayo Jegede’s name for the name of the candidate of the Ali Modu Sheriff’s faction of the PDP, Mr. Jimoh Ibrahim
Sheriff had earlier threatened to sue INEC if it failed to name Ibrahim as the PDP candidate for the guber poll.
Mr. Jegede emerged the candidate in a primary conducted by the Ahmed Makarfi faction of the PDP while Mr. Ibrahim won the primary by the Ali Sheriff faction of the party.
In this list of candidates the electoral commission posted on its website on Thursday evening, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu was also announced as the candidate of the opposition APC in the state.
