World U-17 Champions, Nigeria, will play hosts Korea Republic in their first match at the Four-Nation Suwon International Tournament on Wednesday.
The Golden Eaglets will depart for Korea on Sunday for the invitational tournament initially scheduled to hold in July, but postponed due to the outbreak of MERS in the Far East.
Hosts Korea Republic and Nigeria will be joined at the competition by Brazil and Croatia.
The four teams will play each other in a round robin basis between September 2 and September 6 to determine the tournament winners.
The Eaglets’ opening game against the hosts will come up on September 2nd.The Emmanuel Amuneke-led side will complete their schedule against Brazil and Croatia on September 4 and 6 respectively.
The tournament according to the organisers will serve as a good test run for the four teams heading to the FIFA U-17 World Cup, Chile 2015, where incidentally, Nigeria and Croatia were drawn together along with host Chile and USA in Group A.
Meanwhile the Golden Eaglets squad of 18 players and officials are expected to leave their closed camping site in Katsina on Saturday enroute Lagos through Abuja where they are expected to fly out for the tournament.
They are due back in Nigeria on September 8.
