What is GDMI All About?
The Growth and Development Monitoring Initiative (GDMI) is a transparent initiative that leads, plans, coordinates and undertakes evaluation and monitoring of projects and programs. It also promotes evaluation results and best practices to improve programs and project performances aimed at enhancing development in Nigeria. Our work covers Education, Youth Development, Basic Infrastructural Amenities, Health, Micro and Small or Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Environmental Sustainability. This makes the organization committed to promoting right of citizens and ensuring that both rural and urban committees have a root in decisions that affect them.
Describe what you want to do in the north-western zone of the country and likely outcome on a peaceful conduct of the forth-coming elections in 2015.
We want to sensitize the people and electorate in Kaduna, Kebbi, Sokoto, Katsina, Zamfara, Jigawa and Kano States on their right to elect credible leaders of their choice without coercion or inducement.
We want to sensitize the opinion leaders and the traditional institutions in this place on what they are entitled to demand and standards from other prospective leaders.
The GDMI is interested in all these as a way of uplifting the standard of life of the people who have a right to enjoy a fair dividend of democracy. Also, this programme is designed to reduce rancor or violence from the electoral process.
How do you fund your programmes?
We fund the organization through member’s fund, general donations from well meaning Nigerians who share the vision of the organization, international and local bodies. However, it does not accept donations or contributions with political intentions for obvious reasons.
